My foundational clinical training is in non-directive Rogerian client-centered therapy from my time as a clinical intern then post-graduate psychotherapy fellow in a group practice in Chicago. This humanistic approach continues to serve as the clinical underpinning of my work with clients. Using an eclectic approach, I also responsibly integrate and draw from a number of therapeutic approaches.
I have worked in the field of violence recovery services and human rights, both abroad, and in Chicago and Minnesota. Most recently, during my time here in the Twin Cities, I worked as an individual and family clinician for the Navigate First-Episode Psychosis Program with the University of Minnesota’s Department of Psychiatry. During my four years with the Navigate Program I was trained in the Navigate Model and built competency working with individuals and families impacted by psychosis and schizophrenia spectrum diagnoses, which is work I continue to be committed to today. For the past three years I have provided therapy at Birch Counseling, a group practice in Hopkins.
During this time I have deepened my competency with trauma-related diagnoses and have completed formal training in: Narrative Exposure Therapy, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy (Level I) and EMDR Therapy (Level I and II).
I am also a MN Board of Social Work Approved Clinical Supervisor and very much enjoy supervising LGSW clinicians.
